I watched Sophie Scholl: The Final Days last night. I thought it was good and what a fierce lady she was.
Sophie Magdalena Scholl (1921 - 1943) was a university student and an anti-Nazi activist within the White Rose resistance group during the Third Reich. She was convicted of high treason and promptly executed at age of 21 after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets in Munich.

At age of 83, the former S. Korean chief Kim Dae-jung passed away on Tuesday. A leading figure during Korea’s liberal-democracy movement in the 1970s, Mr. Kim was the first national politician to emerge out of Jjeola-do, a rural province that had been traditionally ignored by military regimes at the time.
While Mr. Kim is now most fondly remembered for his legacies in financial reforms and reconciliation with the North, his life-long campaign to presidency tells the story of a diehard liberal who evaded death on multiple occasions: once kidnapped by KCIA, targeted by assassins and even sentenced to death on charges of Communist activities.
